JACK - "........... Time an again we see this going back to Bakker and Swaggart to Ted Haggard. They keep coming back with followers and money. Here it’s another day and more unmarked graves are found at another former Catholic Indian residential school. The Catholic Church refuses to release records, and from the Catholic polity, crickets.
Most Christians will not call out the views of Mark Driscoll because deep down they agree with them.
The bible is hate literature and the religion engages in cannibalism by proxy. Eating the body, drinking the blood (literally in the case of transubstantiation). Read the bible. Deep down “love your neighbor” only applies to your “Christian” neighbor and most only consider the “neighbor” their brand of Christianity.
It’s only with the advent of the enlightenment that Christianity became a defender of human rights. Up to that point and even up to the modern era, conversion was by force (sword or system)
Try to really engage and you enter an echo chamber where everyone tut tuts about the “bad apples” but really refuse to acknowledge their role in perpetuating this system.
If you tithe, you support. End of story.
There’s a deep rot and until you leave it, you don’t see it."

JACK is a dilemma to the commenters/followers at Wondering Eagle. They are 100 hundred percent in agreement of what terrible people conservative Evangelicals are. Jacks comes out and rips them new ones for their hypocrisy; how come they haven't left? Why do they still give money? Why do they still attend?
___________
Do any of them speak up and defend the faith? Well not so far. If you believe in Christianity lite, ultimately you have no defense other than "I feel" because at the heart - you do not believe Holy Scriptures is eternally authoritive as to the nature of God and the sinfulness of humanity. Yet it would appear obvious, his commenters cannot abandon all hope in a transcendent being - the God of Scripture. Otherwise they would state their agreement with Jack's hatred of God.
